  Churches Together
  in Central Burnley

Our eight churches are all to be found in or near the town centre. Each has a loyal congregation and a variety of activities. We can manage without one another, so why bother being churches together? Good question -- read on and find out about us!

Churches Together in Central Burnley is committed to serving Jesus Christ by Calling the local churches together as the body of Christ to fulfil God's mission in common witness and service in our world.

Open to the holy Spirit and recognising the diversity of the local Christian community and the diversity of communities in Burnley we aim to …

  • Promote and facilitate greater understanding of our different traditions in order to deepen our relationship as the local body of Christ.

  • Lead and stimulate local Christians and congregations to express their unity in Jesus by serving together in mission and ministry.

  • In the light of the Gospel to reflect together on issues which affect the local community and the world and where appropriate take action.

  • Explore and initiate creative and fulfilling ways of worshipping God together.

  • Enable congregations with their leaders and clergy to recognise and reduce unnecessary duplication of effort and activity and share resources.
